The History of
One Fine Day
One Fine Day is basically my own personal love story! I come from an entrepreneurial family and always knew I wanted to do something on my own, I just never knew in what industry! After getting my degree in finance and real estate from Indiana University, I moved back home and began working in commercial real estate. I knew that wasn’t the long term path for me and have always had a passion for the beauty of wedding dresses and the time in life they represent.
With that passion for wedding dresses in the back of my mind, I began putting together a business plan and talking with designers and the dream of One Fine Day began.
When brides ask if I like what I do, I always say “it may sound corny, but this is what I was put on this earth to do”. I felt that way when our doors first opened and I still feel that way 12 years later!
What to expect during your appointment at
One Fine Day
We are big believers in showing brides a curated selection of beautiful wedding dresses from designers who love brides as much as we do. We don’t believe in over-crowding, showing you anything we don’t personally love and we absolutely want you to touch the dresses. They like being told they’re pretty!
When you arrive for your appointment, you’ll sit down with your personal bridal consultant and you will talk with her about your wedding! She’ll then take you back to your dressing room and have you relax for a couple minutes while she pulls some amazing dresses for you to try on! She will help you into the dress and be there with you as you show your family and friends!
Finding your dress is both a head and a heart decision. We will empower you to make that decision and create an amazing and memorable experience with those you love! We believe in showing you wedding dresses that fit your vision, make you feel amazing and often take you by surprise. Our collection starts around $1,600 and goes up to $4,000 with our try-on samples ranging from bridal size 8-30.
Your wedding dress is custom made for you so it will take 6 months to come in! If you need your wedding dress sooner than that, we have you covered! You are always welcome to shop our in-house collection of dresses and take your dress with you the same day as your appointment! We also have 2 other quick options – and in stock program and 2 different rush options! We will be able to get you your dream dress with no stress on your time!
Alterations are always to be expected on your wedding dress. Common alterations include shortening straps, hem, bustle and some adjustment in the bust area or hips on a fitted dress. These are always a separate cost and you’ll want to talk to your preferred seamstress to get an idea of the price range. We refer our brides to a number of seamstresses in Fort Wayne and the surrounding area!
When your dress arrives we’ll actually walk through some of the potential alterations you could have done. We’ll help arm you with the knowledge you need to ensure you feel confident about your wedding dress alterations.
